New Business Development Manager

We are on the hunt for a highly motivated New Business Development Manager who will work to develop business opportunities with new clients across New Zealand. We are looking for somebody who will find, engage, negotiate and close new business engagements, with the assistance of Media Suite technical and service delivery teams. Our target sectors are in the NZ Government and Public Sector, Primary Sector, and Agritech Industry but we are open to candidates who bring their own unique set of experiences and relationships outside of these sectors.
This role sits within an existing tightly knit sales & account management squad and requires an experienced and proven individual to:
Find and engage new business prospects for Media Suite
Build and extend relevant business relationships in the target sectors
Win business for Media Suite in the target sectors
Smoothly transition new business relationships to delivery and account management in an open and proactive manner
Deliver consistently on sales targets
Whatever your background, you will definitely need to be:

able to display genuine business acumen & commercial/financial knowledge;
able to turn information into a clear strategy and communicate complex information to broad audiences;

Some of the practical day-to-day things you can expect to be doing:
Leveraging your network to find and generate new business opportunities
Using your creativity to develop win-win solutions for Media Suite and our Partners
Being across the commercial performance of our engagements
Helping our partners to understand our processes and methodologies
Negotiating contractuals and commercials
Ensuring smooth handovers between phases of projects
Creating roadmaps and account plans with key Partners
Updating and reporting on sales pipelines and key activities
Skills, Experience & Education:
You will definitely have relevant professional experience but we are open to what that experience might look like. It would certainly be advantageous if you had a background in an agile software development/software sales context as well as a network of contacts in our relevant sectors. Whatever your background, we think you’ll certainly need a credible body of experience to meet the requirements of this role.
Here are some of the skills and experience we are looking for:
A proven track record of successful technology industry business development within NZ
A proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets through the winning of new business and account development
Experienced at working as part of a technical solutions sales team and an understanding of software development sales processes
Experienced at engaging with clients at the Board level and C Suite
A proven record of writing successful proposals, contracts and responding to RFPs
A high level of presentation skills and experience
A relevant network of senior contacts in areas such as the NZ Government and Public Sector, Primary Sector, and Agritech Industry is desirable

The remuneration for this role will be a combination of a base salary and an at risk component.
